The 19th district Rebekah convention met in Kenton with Carey delegates Mrs. Chester Tate Mrs. Frank McGown Mrs. John Twining Miss Adah Johnson and Miss Flora Humbert. Adah Johnson elected vice president Humbert warden Tate and Twining assigned to Carey and Wharton executive committees. Humbert participated in memorial services for Cora Mann Iva Stief Isaac Johnson and Leroy Straw. An offering supported the Odd Fellows home in Springfield. The next convention will be in Dunkirk.

Friday noon W L Hoff tied a horse to a wagon wheel as children played nearby. A boy’s stone spurred the horse to kick, striking four year old Ruth Susanne Hoff in the back of the head and throwing her ten feet. A gash required two stitches and her back suffered bruising.

Brother Dallas A McClish Killed in Auto Accident
Mrs W R Markley received a telegram naming Dallas A McClish of Los Angeles as the auto accident victim. He died Thursday after an accident last Wednesday. The body, to be buried in Findlay, accompanies his wife, brother Foster McClish of Filmore, and sister Mrs Claude Henry of Los Angeles. McClish was a property man with the Christy Comedy Co.

Beatrice Fisher Dies After Illness at 21
Beatrice Fisher eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Frank Fisher of Tiffin died June 10 1920 after illness since January 12 from rheumatism and heart trouble following influenza. Born Carey June 27 1898 she graduated Ursuline Academy Tiffin 1916 and worked as a stenographer at Union National Bank Fostoria. Funeral Monday at 8 am St Marys Church with Rev Highenbothem officiating burial in St Marys Cemetery attended by Mr and Mrs A L Arnold and C R Tate.

The firm reports the new building up to the third story and solid progress. Carey has secured another porcelain factory and a pottery firm has bought land to start a plant at once. The Arlington boom is said to be based on real accomplishments rather than gas.

Baptism Service Held at Tymochtee Creek Bridge
Last Sunday afternoon at 4:00 p m a baptismal service was held in Tymochtee Creek at Kear's bridge. Twenty were buried with Christ in baptism during a solemn service led by Rev. S F Bauberg of Wharton. The Church of God at Wharton organized the event with other denominations present.

Pleasant Surprise Visits Hoops Family
Last Friday noon twelve visitors surprised Christian Hoops of Lake street at dinner. Lightning strikes home near town causing structural damage
Sunday afternoon about 2:30 a residence belonging to Guy Greer north of town was struck by lightning. The bolt tore telephone wires from the side of the house and damaged the cornice and plaster in an upper room. It then ran down the spouting and broke two holes in the cement porch floor.
