A joint memorial service at Castle Hall honored 54 deceased Justus lodge No. 393 Knights of Pythias and Carey temple No. 169 Pythian Sisters. Rev. H Myron Shimer delivered the sermon, with readings by Mrs. Lasley and Mrs. Turnbel and a eulogy for Anna Humbert, Joe Silverstein, and Daniel Converse. Flowers were later given to the sick.

Mr and Mrs William Spackey and their niece Judy Hill of Carey attended the 96th University of Wisconsin commencement in Madison where 3400 degrees were awarded to about 17000 spectators. William Froelick Jr received a bachelor of p iolence in education while honorary degrees went to Trygvie Lie and David Lilienthal. The Carey visitors toured the capitol, campus, crew races, Memorial Union and Mooseheart Illinois before returning home.

The Rev. Wade H. Koons of Christ Lutheran Church will travel to Hartwick College Oneonta New York for an Institute on World Order. Hagley Takes Post as Fostoria Signal Maintainer
Clarence Hagley of the C. & O. railroad began duties as maintainer of the new inter locking signal system in Fostoria when it went into operation Monday. The system cost about one million dollars and controls signals for the B. & O. N. Y. C. C. & O. and Nickel Plate railroads in Fostoria, with New York Central in control of the plant. Three men are employed there: leading signalman, maintainer, and assistant signalman. Hagley has worked in Fostoria for the past two months.

Local Couple Opens Two Restaurants in Carey Area
Mr and Mrs Ira Wentz opened two restaurants Saturday at 124 S Vance Street, about 20 miles south of Carey. They will serve short orders on weekdays and chicken dinners on Sundays.
