City Council approves funding and sidewalk repairs

City Council met in regular session led by the mayor with clerks and eight councilors present. Bills were allowed for bids, labor, pumps, taps, and station telephones. an appropriation of 45 was granted for Fire Department delegates, and sidewalk repairs were ordered at multiple properties with costs charged to the tax duplicate.

Death of John Lime in Upper Sandusky in 19th century era

John Lime died at his home in Upper Sandusky last Sunday morning after a long life begun in Richland county on August 16, 1842. He moved to this county with his parents in 1855 and later served in Co. D of the 144th Ohio Infantry during the Civil War. He was ill from Saturday evening and his funeral was held Tuesday afternoon.

Hocking Valley Excursion to Boys' Industrial School at Lancaster

On Wednesday June 27 the Hocking Valley railroad runs an excursion from Carey to the Boys' Industrial School near Lancaster. Departure is 6:55 a m with round trip fare set at $1.50 and half fare for children under 12. This marks the annual outing of the United Brethren churches.
