Thomas Atkins was among 672 graduates receiving degrees at Ohio University commencement on the College Green in Athens. He earned a bachelor of fine arts, was editor of the Athena yearbook, and served as vice president of Kappa Alpha Mu. Edmund Logsdon Heads Local Knights of Columbus Officers

Edmund Logsdon was elected grand knight at the Knights of Columbus meeting held at the K of C hall. Deputy grand knight Rene Dubois, chancellor Perry Fletcher, recorder Eugene Orians, warden Kenneth Nye, treasurer James Myers, advocate August Window, inside guard Richard Phillips, outside guard James Lonsway, and trustee John Grine were chosen for the ensuing year. The new officers will be installed July 1. Deputy Grand Knight Robert Kessler led the session in the absence of Grand Knight Richard Brown. Refreshments closed the meeting hosted by the June committee.

Mrs Earl Albus Injured In Ladder Fall Near Carey

Mrs Earl Albus sustained severe cuts and possible skull fracture in a fall from a stepladder at her Hayes Greer farm home northeast of Carey. She was found in a coma, rushed to Mercy Hospital Tiffin, and regained consciousness two hours later. her husband remained at her bedside.

Visiting California trip and family visits described

Mr and Mrs George Messmer depart for a three week sight seeing tour of California. Their son Jimmy travels earlier with Mrs Bernice Johnson and Fritz to San Bernardino to visit Mr and Mrs Grant Johnson and daughter Kim. The Johnsons and Jimmy join Miss Pat Johnson in Cincinnati. George Dunn Named Village Manager at Carey Ohio

George Dunn, a Carey native and former Snyder Lumber Co. employee, was appointed village manager to replace J R Castner who moves to Milton Freewater Oregon.
