Mrs Sarah Snook Dies After 21 Weeks Ill at Ridge
Mrs Sarah Snook aged 82 died Wednesday June 6 at her Ridge township home after a long illness. She lived alone since her husband’s death eight years ago and is survived by son John Snook and a brother Jacob Starr. Funeral held at St Pauls United Evangelical Church with Rev W Elmer Bailey officiating. burial in Zion Bloom Cemetery. Maiden name Sarah Starr born Nov 18 1834 near Vanlue. Married Jeremiah Snook Sept 18 1860. two sons born Charles died in infancy. Charles is deceased. John survives. She spent her life in the area and was well known. Attending were Mrs Charles Jacobs and son of Marion and others.

Mrs Nannie Frink of Union City on the Fremon line to attend her brother in law James Frink’s funeral fell while alighting from the Big Four train at Carey. She twisted her left ankle, ligaments torn, sprain diagnosed, and Dr C Van Buren considers X ray to check for broken bones.

Robbery by Gypsies Intercepts Band En Route to Forest
A band traveling from Wharton to Forest in four autos was robbed of $5 by three gypsies. Robey reported the crime to Forest and Sheriff Harper and deputies pursued. Three carloads were captured about three miles northeast of Forest. one unit escaped but was recovered south of Forest. The band was taken to Forest and held in the mayoral office.
