Roger W. Greene 23, of Carey dies in action July 13 1943 in Iran after service in Camp Claiborne Louisiana and overseas duty. He earned the Soldiers Medal and Russian Red Star. Survived by his father Ward Greene and relatives in Green Ville Rushsylvania and Bellefontaine. Funeral Sunday at 2 PM at Bristol funeral home with American Legion services. Burial in Spring Grove cemetery. Friends may call after Friday.

Daniel Williams Found Dead Along Tracks
Daniel Williams aged 65 was found dead Monday morning along the A C Y R Re tracks east of the hustlers shack by Merle Buckingham as he checked cars. Coroner Dr J A Propst said Williams died about 48 hours due to endocarditis and a social security card from Canton was found on the body. Two empty wine bottles were found. no money or valuables. Canton and Gary police circulated photos and noted Williams had 16 prior intoxication arrests in Gary. Funeral arrangements not complete. burial expected Friday.
