Mrs Cora Hart Returns From Mission Trip to Utah

Mrs Cora Hart came back from an extended visit with Rev and Mrs C M Cavit and infant Alice Christine at Somerset Kentucky. The Cavit family will sell household goods and move to Milford Utah to join the Methodist Church South mission by June 10.

Wyandot County Holds Preschool Health Clinic Sessions

The Wyandot County health department plans an annual physical for all children starting school next September. Four sessions will run Wednesday and Thursday June 10 and 11 at the Col Crawford school building, with mothers urged to bring their child for on site examination and any needed treatment such as tonsil infection, dental care, vision or malnutrition issues.

Retires After 37 Years With New York Central Lines

L L Rowland of 134 E North Street retires from paint foreman post on New York Central Lines due to ill health after 37 years service. He began February 14 1905 at 20 cents an hour, promoted to foreman in 1923, resigned on doctor's advice for a heart ailment. Last day May 31, remains a railroad man.

Woman Injured In Fall At Eagles Hall

Mrs Elmer Rothgeb of Frederick street slipped on a newly polished floor at the Eagles hall and broke a bone in her right leg just below the hip. Goffs ambulance transported her to Findlay hospital on Sunday morning, with Mrs Ira Wentz and Mrs Hobart Tong accompanying. She was brought home on Wednesday to confinement for several weeks.

Parfitt Named Carey Schools Band Director

Donald Parfitt of Lucas schools in Richland county near Mansfield will direct the Carey high school band and teach music. He succeeds William Holloway who leaves for Army Air Corps cadet service. Parfitt takes over July 1 with six years of prior experience and Baldwin Wallace graduate duties include directing the mixed chorus. The Parfitt family includes a young son. no band concerts or instrumental work will occur in June.

An 8-pound son arrived Sunday noon to Mr and Mrs Graydon Knowlton of Adrian. A 7-pound 2-ounce son followed Sunday morning to Mr and Mrs Leonard Niederkohr of Upper Sandusky at Bucyrus hospital. Bernard James is the name chosen for the Niederkohr baby. Mrs Niederkohr is Kathleen Stief. The Niederkohrs’ father is a son of Mr and Mrs William Niederkohr, east of Carey.

Eleven year old Heilman daughter undergoes knee tumor operation
