The Carey board of education appointed Carl B Driver as superintendent to succeed W B Huffman starting July 1938. Driver, with 16 years in administration, will move to Carey with wife Lupt and children Jane Ann Barbara Jea and Robert Lee. He holds a 1919 AB from Bridgewater College and certificates from 1925 and 1937.

Mrs Earl S Burson a lifelong Carey resident died at her home on East Findlay Street Tuesday afternoon around 3 o clock after a year of declining health following a major operation at Findlay hospital in November She was active in Christ Lutheran church and community groups including the Jennie Larmonth Missionary Society Queen Esther class and Carey Fortnightly club She is survived by her husband three children Vera Paul and Reid and her mother Ida Newcomer Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 3 pm at Christ Lutheran church with burial in Spring Grove cemetery.
