Carey Kiwanis Club met at Pilgrim House with Rev Paul R Clouser presenting a six fold view of the community and its weaknesses in religious educational civic social industrial and business sectors An open forum discussion followed and members voted to hold monthly forums The next meeting will be a picnic in late August
Elizabeth Hart daughter of Mrs Cora Hart of East South street married Rev Hiram D Kern son of Rev and Mrs C C H Kern at Memorial Evangelical church. Ceremony led by Rev C C H Kern and Rev Roy B Leedy. Bridal gown white satin with embroidered net veil. Attendant Catherine Hart wore yellow lace. Best man Alpha Kern. Reception followed. Out‑of‑town guests noted from Lindsey Findlay Toledo and other communities.
Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Livingston were called on Sunday evening by Mr. and Mrs. Will Rogers and grandson Mr. Ewing of North Baltimore. The two men, schoolmates from 1871 to 1878 in Denver, then rivals to North Baltimore, have maintained a lasting friendship despite distance and Mr. Rogers ill health.
Banns for the marriage of Dorothy Lamberjack daughter of Mrs Veronica Lamberjack of west town and Leroy Payment of Toledo were announced for the first time Sunday at Our Lady of Consolation church.

Nineteen members of Troops 22 and 29 attend a Boy Scout camp at Owens Camp south of Marion for a week. A Court of Honor is set for Friday at 7 30 p m with parents and the public invited, listing the Scouts and their leaders by name.
A Christ Lutheran Church group joined adults and youths at Lakeside for the United Lutheran summer school. The program included an institute of church music, youth discussion groups, leadership training, mission study, and inspirational addresses with Rev. Paul R. Clouser serving on the summer school committee.
A Carey fishing party of nine went to Tibbet's Landing Lakeside Thursday and landed 73 fish weighing 94 pounds. Participants included Dr. S. R. Bame F. H. Frederick C. D. Calines Free Scoarse Robert McDaniel J. A. McDaniel H. B. Keller D. A. Capell and Cecil Capell of Findlay. D. A. Capell and Free Scoarse each caught pike about 4.4 pounds, the largest of the trip.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Tuttle and daughter Pearl of Cardington were returning from Mt. Victory when their car wrecked five miles west of Marion. Mrs. Tuttle sustained a broken collar bone and bruises, while her husband and daughter were only slightly hurt. She was taken home to Cardington. The cause of the crash was not learned. Mrs. Tuttle is related to Mrs. E. M. Burson and Mrs. J. J. Stoll of Carey.
Earl Briggs, recently resigning as night policeman in Carey, accepted a position at the state reformatory in Mansfield. He completed civil service exams and is expected to serve as carpentry and wood works instructor, taking the new role on Monday August 2.
A 6 pound daughter named Elizabeth Ellen was born to Mr. and Mrs. Harold Nachbar four miles south of Carey on Wednesday morning last week. A baby girl weighing 8 pounds was born to Mr. and Mrs. George Savidge on Sunday morning, named Joyce Ann.
The 27th Wonder family reunion is set for Sunday August 1 at Zane Caverns near Bellefontaine. A basket dinner will be served at 12 noon. Association officers include President W. D. Jamison and Secretary Hazel Holland Kenton.
Max Silverstein son of Mr and Mrs Joe Silverstein has completed admission requirements and will enter Ohio State University this fall. He plans a pre law major after graduating from Carey High School this spring.
Old weather again postpones Carey Glandorf baseball. Sunday the Packers host Letta Rosinski’s Seneca Wire Indians of Fostoria at the rubber plant field. Peters and Griffith are visiting battery. Parsell and Orians pitch for Carey. General admission 25 cents. ladies and children under 12 free.
The Hancock County Camp Meeting Association will hold a ten day event at A P Byal Park in Findlay from August 5 through August 15. Evangelists Rev J L Brasher and Rev James Miller will preach, with music directed by Mr and Mrs R A Shank and youth work supervised by Mrs H Robb French. Officers include President V V Thomas Vice President Lyman Myers and Secretary Treasurer Edgar K Thomas.
A number of Carey residents are at Findlay Home and Hospital or discharged as cured. Blanche Aiiger returned home after an operation. W G Hagley had an emergency appendectomy and is in good condition after a comfortable day. C G Laird and Robert Hutchinson show improvement after serious operations. Miss Thrall, at the hospital since last Sunday, is in good condition and much better.
Mr and Mrs C W England of Akron were injured but not seriously when their car wrecked while attempting to pass and avoid a car turning in front of them. They were en route to Carey for a weekend visit and were bruised and shaken.
The village prohibits riding bicycles on sidewalks in Carey and requires dismounting to push through the business district. Officials warn that violations will lead to arrests as children’s safety is cited. Mayor Cc. E. Hunter signs the notice.
A cream buying station operates at Simonis grocery under Farmont Creamery. Donald Myers oversees the station and will truck in cream from farmers. He also delivers groceries and fresh meats to customers choosing this service.

After a weekend wind and rain storm, Carey residents faced a sharp cold snap with Tuesday morning at Upper Sandusky station reading 47 degrees. Monday reached 70 with overcast skies and a chilly wind. The Sunday storm toppled tree limbs. one calf-tapa tree fell on the Vincent Krupp home porch, requiring a tractor to clear it.
The Carey Aerie No. 2198 Fraternal Order of Eagles passes resolutions of respect after the death of Lavern Wagner. The notices express faith hope and loyalty as hallmarks of his friendship and service and send sympathy to his family. Copies are to be sent to the bereaved family and to The Carey Times.
The Musgrave family gathered near Crawford on Sunday July 25 for their annual reunion. A devotional hour and business meeting followed a bountiful noon meal. Officers elected for the year were President Carl Musgrave Secretary Paul Stansbery and Treasurer Mrs Henry Musgrave.
The next 4-H club meeting is scheduled for Tuesday August 3. Members should attend with books for study and group work. A camp fire program, postponed earlier, will be held Thursday July 29 at 8 pm at the Upper Sandusky fair grounds.
Wyandot county relief administration director John A. Greer announces effective August 1, 1937 relief will be turned back to township trustees. Federal commodities will still be distributed in the county by the county commissioners and the WPA will continue.
The Republican committee urges voters to write in Ed Weaver as Marshal of Carey in the Republican primary on Tuesday August 10. Pol. adv. REPUBLICAN COMMITTEE.

On Sunday August 1 the Ep worth League delegation of the Methodist church leaves for a week at the Lakeside Institute. The group includes chaperones Mr and Mrs W S Huffman and several members led by Rev Marion E Tinsler editor of the Breeze. Don Mitchell joins from Wayne Michigan and the delegation returns to Carey Sunday afternoon August 8.
D B Fetters purchases the Carey Variety store from Robert Cullison of Toledo. The transfer follows Cullison’s purchase last Wednesday from H C Wonder and was completed Friday. The two stores will combine with H E Fetters' 5c to $1.00 store to create a super class A variety store after extensive improvements.
W H Christy, state auditor examiner from Columbus, is in Carey auditing the books of the Carey Corporation. He says the village shows strong financial condition with activity comparable to other towns over 6000 population and expects at least 30 days to finish the audit.

The Philathea class of Memorial Evangelical Sunday school will meet next Tuesday evening with Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Carr. Mrs. Lucy Dible will lead the lesson study.

Mrs Della Gunther of West Findlay Street is hospitalized at Flower Hospital Toledo after a car crash while returning from a two week trip with her son and daughter-in-law Mr and Mrs Edward Gunther in Flint Michigan Their car hit another vehicle six miles from the state line Mrs Gunther has a fractured left wrist leg injuries and bruises Her son sustained a knee injury Mr and Mrs Samuel Gunther and daughter visited Toledo overnight and Mrs Gunther of Flint joined them on their way home
The groups gathered Monday night at the Carey high school. A baseball game crowned the evening with the boys as winners. A potluck supper followed, with Mr Crum of Upper Sandusky and Mr Reese from Columbus sharing demonstrations and flower care ideas. Edith Greene named healthiest Carey 4-H girl and will represent at the county fair. An upcoming campfire at Upper Sandusky is planned for Thursday evening July 29.
The Old Society of the Vanlue United Brethren church sponsors a lawn festival Saturday evening July 31 featuring supper items chicken and wiener sandwiches pie cake and coffee with ice cream watermelon and soft drinks. Local residents provide a musical program for fellowship.
