Long-Established Friendship Recalled Between Old Schoolmates

Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Livingston were called on Sunday evening by Mr. and Mrs. Will Rogers and grandson Mr. Ewing of North Baltimore. The two men, schoolmates from 1871 to 1878 in Denver, then rivals to North Baltimore, have maintained a lasting friendship despite distance and Mr. Rogers ill health.

Lutheran Group Attends United Lutheran Summer School

A Christ Lutheran Church group joined adults and youths at Lakeside for the United Lutheran summer school. Local party enjoys Tibbet's Land fishing trip

A Carey fishing party of nine went to Tibbet's Landing Lakeside Thursday and landed 73 fish weighing 94 pounds. Participants included Dr. S. R. Bame F. H. Frederick C. D. Calines Free Scoarse Robert McDaniel J. A. McDaniel H. B. Keller D. A. Capell and Cecil Capell of Findlay. D. A. Capell and Free Scoarse each caught pike about 4.4 pounds, the largest of the trip.

Collision Near Marion Breaks Collar Bone for Mrs. Tuttle

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Tuttle and daughter Pearl of Cardington were returning from Mt. Victory when their car wrecked five miles west of Marion. Mrs. Tuttle sustained a broken collar bone and bruises, while her husband and daughter were only slightly hurt. She was taken home to Cardington. The cause of the crash was not learned. Mrs. Tuttle is related to Mrs. E. M. Burson and Mrs. J. J. Stoll of Carey.

Brigg Accepts Post at Mansfield Reformatory

Earl Briggs, recently resigning as night policeman in Carey, accepted a position at the state reformatory in Mansfield. He completed civil service exams and is expected to serve as carpentry and wood works instructor, taking the new role on Monday August 2.

Birth notices for two babies near Carey reported

A 6 pound daughter named Elizabeth Ellen was born to Mr. and Mrs. Harold Nachbar four miles south of Carey on Wednesday morning last week. A baby girl weighing 8 pounds was born to Mr. and Mrs. George Savidge on Sunday morning, named Joyce Ann.

Hancock County Camp Meeting Sets August 5 15

The Hancock County Camp Meeting Association will hold a ten day event at A P Byal Park in Findlay from August 5 through August 15. Carey Residents Benefit From Local Hospital Care

A number of Carey residents are at Findlay Home and Hospital or discharged as cured. Blanche Aiiger returned home after an operation. W G Hagley had an emergency appendectomy and is in good condition after a comfortable day. C G Laird and Robert Hutchinson show improvement after serious operations. Miss Thrall, at the hospital since last Sunday, is in good condition and much better.

Automobile Demolished in Akron Carey Drive Incident

Mr and Mrs C W England of Akron were injured but not seriously when their car wrecked while attempting to pass and avoid a car turning in front of them. They were en route to Carey for a weekend visit and were bruised and shaken.

Bicycling Rules Issued For Carey Village

The village prohibits riding bicycles on sidewalks in Carey and requires dismounting to push through the business district. Officials warn that violations will lead to arrests as children’s safety is cited. Mayor Cc. E. Hunter signs the notice.

Low Temperatures Fall After Weekend Storm Turmoil

After a weekend wind and rain storm, Carey residents faced a sharp cold snap with Tuesday morning at Upper Sandusky station reading 47 degrees. Monday reached 70 with overcast skies and a chilly wind. The Sunday storm toppled tree limbs. one calf-tapa tree fell on the Vincent Krupp home porch, requiring a tractor to clear it.

W H Christy, state auditor examiner from Columbus, is in Carey auditing the books of the Carey Corporation. He says the village shows strong financial condition with activity comparable to other towns over 6000 population and expects at least 30 days to finish the audit.

Girls 4-H and Boys 4-H Club Meet at High School

The groups gathered Monday night at the Carey high school. A baseball game crowned the evening with the boys as winners. A potluck supper followed, with Mr Crum of Upper Sandusky and Mr Reese from Columbus sharing demonstrations and flower care ideas.
