Col Walton Weber Near Death After Illness

Col Walton Weber, assistant adjutant general of the Department of Ohio G A R, is near death after a week of stomach trouble and a recent stroke. The 80 year old former Carey resident and past department commander heads the national Army of the Cumberland veterans group and lives at 1480 Neil Avenue in Columbus.

Precinct A voters in Montague's photograph studio and Precinct B in the town hall for the Aug 10 primaries. Precinct C meets at Carey Creamery and Precinct D at D C Bowlby plumbing shop. First Wheat Delivered by Murray at Crawford Elevator

Murray from Crawford brought the season's first wheat to the Farmers' Elevator last Thursday. It tested 63 and was of fine quality. The season's wheat yields range from 27 to 40 bushels per acre and tests between 6134 and 64 pounds per bushel.

Damaged Cars Collision on W Findlay and Muncie Streets

Last Friday evening Elmer Hunter tried to pass a car on W Findlay street near the corner of Findlay and Muncie streets. He struck a Toledo bound car and a Ford roadster owned and driven by B K Swartz. Parked cars along the curb narrowed the space for three moving cars.

Death of Howard Tiell In Farm Wagon Mishap Near Alvada

Howard Andrew Tiell of Frenchtown died Saturday near Alvada when a wagon wheel rolled over his head after he stepped on the tongue to disentangle harness lines. The 1901 birth, farm work at Robert Reinhart’s, and funeral at St Nicholas church in Frenchtown were noted, with survivors listed as his parents, eight siblings, and Moose Lodge membership mentioned.

Crawford Ridge Clubs Hold Annual Picnic at Findlay Park

The Crawford Ridge township clubs met at 2:30 to depart for Windlay Park for a potluck picnic. Attending clubs included Cheerful Two Food, Domestic Art Clothing, Happy Hour Clothing, and Crawford Ridge Needleworkers. Led by Mrs. George Shuman and others, 55 people dined at 6:00 after arriving by car pools.

Bound Over to Grand Jury in Assault Case

Elmer Hunter was bound over to the grand jury from Mayor Mullholand's court on a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon. He is held on a $5,000 bond and jailed. Police say he, intoxicated, attempted to stab his son in law Fred Hendricks during a family dispute. Hendricks restrained him while Mrs. Hendricks received a severe cut to her hand. Night Policeman Wi Anderson made the arrest.

Death of Geo D Byron at 66 in Upper Sandusky

Geo D Byron aged 66 died Tuesday morning at his Upper Sandusky home after a brief illness. His wife Ida Gormley survives. Daughter of L. A. Gormley of Crawford, she will hold private funeral services this afternoon at 4 o'clock from the home.

Ohio Livestock Totals Rise With Higher Values

The report shows 000 sheep and lambs valued at over 321 million and 5203 thousand pigs valued at 33 million. Last year saw more sheep and pigs in value despite a drop in pig numbers, while cattle and calves numbered 1,642,000 worth 83.7086 million, with dairy cattle making up more than half.

Help Build Farm Air Program Seeks Listener Input

Farmers are the largest radio listener group yet the least served by WEAO at Ohio State University. About 28 percent of station mail comes from farmers, 7 percent from others. Rambower says many want farm and home problem lectures, and plans could be formed with widespread interest. Community groups could host listening sessions with note taking and discussion afterward.

The Farmers Community Club met Monday at the farmers cream station with 28 members present. They conducted routine business, welcomed four new members, and held a round table on community ideals. J H W Murphy of Burgoon awarded contract to build two remaining Carey Iestoria road stretches a one mile and four and a half mile segment with water bound asphalt mix at three gallons per yard. The mile section must be finished by October first.

Fire crews respond to roof blaze at confectionery

Monday noon the fire department was summoned after a spark from a trash fire ignited the storage room roof behind A. J King's confectionery. Practically no damage resulted.
