A Sunday night two car collision near Carey killed Van S. Baker 77 and Anna M. Baker 73 both of Carey instantly from neck fractures. Driver Wallen G. Risner 22 of Highland Michigan was hospitalized at Blanchard Valley with head lacerations and possible arm fractures. The wreck at 8 15 p m at US 23 Wyandot 97 occurred as Bakers car failed to yield. Wyandot County Sheriff’s Department and State Highway Patrol investigated. Joint services were held July 27 at Christ Lutheran Church with burial in Spring Grove Cemetery.

Salem Bird Lovers Picnic At Indian Mill
The Salem Bird Lovers Club met on Sunday July 17 at Indian Mill Park Upper Sandusky Ohio for a picnic lunch. Three Hurt In Collision Near Carey Ohio
Three people were injured in a two car crash Sunday at the intersection of Ohio 15 and US 23 near Carey. Judy Blair of Marion drove north and ran a red signal, causing impact with Leonard Lasley of Carey who was turning from Route 15 onto Route 23. Blair had facial cuts, Marshall Craig 17 had a knee laceration, and Paul Lasley 7 suffered a mouth cut. all were to see physicians. No citations were issued.
