John Beckley seven year old of Wyan dot Street was hit by a Carey police cruiser after riding toward Memorial Park. He suffered a compound fracture of the right thigh but remained conscious. He received aid at Bristoll's ambulance and Marion General Hospital with surgery and a leg cast. He is in room 108 and hopes for visitors from parents only.

Donald Bingle 15, son of Mr and Mrs Sylvester Eingle, escaped serious injury after being struck by an Ohio Power Co auto while riding a bicycle on State Route 509 north of Carey. He and three friends were warming up for football when he pulled into the path of a southbound car driven by Robert T Woodruff of Tiffin. The collision left both bicycle and rider about five feet from the car as it halted. He was taken to Wyandot Memorial Hospital for x rays and observation overnight and remained stiff but around.

Tommy Henry In Critical Condition After Bicycle Collision
Tommy Henry seven son of Mr and Mrs Robert Henry of Gahanna and grandson of Mr and Mrs Harold Houk remains on the critical list at Children's Hospital Columbus after his bicycle was sideswiped by a car as he rode from his home. He suffered a severe brain concussion and a fracture at the base of the skull with spinal cord intact. A small skull section was removed and pins used to set the fracture while traction was applied. He is also treated for a blood clot on the brain and is slowly coming out of shock. His mother is Barbara Houk and his maternal grandparents were called to Gahanna. The Henry family includes three other sons Bill Steve and Peter.

Cement truck causes brief power outage in Wharton
A Huston Lumber cement truck ran over a power pole guy wire on W North Street in Carey causing insulators to pull free and 2400 volt lines to tangle. The outage lasted about 15 minutes Wednesday morning, cutting power to Carey and the village wharton and halting the water pump. The truck was delivering cement to the Harold Nye residence around 10 a.m.
