Bucyrus edged Carey 3 1 in a Sunday pitcher duel as Heck of Carey and Harris of Bucyrus battled. Carey missed scoring chances despite Donelson’s rehabbed ankle showing solid batting and fielding. A large crowd witnessed the game before Carey travels to Melmore next Sunday.

A 7-year-old boy, Joe Newhard, son of Mr and Mrs George Newhard of West Findlay Street, ran into traffic and was struck by a car near the J D Ewing residence. He escaped with minor bruises and cuts. the vehicle was occupied by three women.

Man Released From Jail After Prohibition Fine

A. D Jones, held in the county jail for nearly three weeks for violation of the prohibition law, paid $200 of a $500 fine and costs and arranged monthly payments for the balance. He was released Tuesday evening due to poor physical condition.

Unusual 51-headed wheat from Seneca County farm

Prolific wheat stalk sent to the office last Saturday came from the Joe Pethe farm in Big Spring township Seneca county. The stalk grew from a single grain and bears 51 heads of grain. There are 14 acres of this wheat on Mr Pethe's farm.

Mrs Della Tong Jacobs aged 64 years 1 month 4 days died after an operation at a Manistee hospital. Funeral services were held Sunday at the Baptist church in Manistee. She leaves eight children Forest Harold Gladys Ralph Robert Zelma Dorothy Lily and four grandchildren. Survived by brother Hosea Tong and step family near Carey. Burial followed in local community tradition.

Tragic Farm Accident Claims Two Year Old Boy

Cyril Joseph Weaver, two years eleven months, died instantly at the family home four miles north of Crestline when a mud boat toppled while he watched men unload hay. He was the son of Mr and Mrs Peter Weaver and survived by two sisters Agnes and Leilene. The mother Kathryn Krantz is a former local resident and the paternal grandfather Henry Weaver is recovering from pneumonia.

Car Forces Man Into Ditch In Route 23 Crash Near Welter

John Wehrle, driving from Fostoria to Carey on Route 23, veered into a ditch after an approaching car with two youths lit cigarettes and pulled into his path near Welter schoolhouse six miles north of Carey. Wehrle suffered cuts and bruises. his Studebaker sustained about $200 damage. the other car fled the scene.

Woman Suffers Severe Injury In Horse Accident

Tuesday afternoon Mrs T G Laws of Crawford was guiding a horse to pull up hay when the animal bolted. She fell trying to stop it and suffered a severe injury with her right ear torn off and head cut to the bone. She remained conscious and was reported as doing as well as can be expected.
