Carey Board Approves 1962 Budget and Staffing
The Carey Board of Education met Monday evening and approved operating expenses of 349,182.79 and bond retirement of 27,500 for 1962. Grace Baker of Wharton was hired to coach girls physical education, and Zella Heck was added to teach special education. A 1.8 renewal operating levy was authorized for the November ballot. The board also approved plans to repair and expand existing school buildings with details to follow.
