Friar Warren Welsh OFMConv will profess vows of poverty chastity and obedience at the Shrine Church of Our Lady of Consolation on July 22. The ceremony will be led by Minister General Vittorio Costantini OFMConv as eight friars are professed. Warren Welsh, from the Our Lady of Consolation Province, entered the seminary in 1952 after Carey High School and Carey Seminary studies. He is a son of Mr and Mrs John S Welsh.

On the way back they stopped in Zanesville where officials said business was in decline with six families leaving weekly and no new industry in 14 years. They returned convinced Carey is not as bad.

W M Walter and son Elmer brought in Adrian area wheat with 56 lb bushel weight and 15 5 percent moisture at Carey Farmers Coop Co on July 10. Yield averaged 20 bu per acre with a top 33 bu. moisture ranged 13 5 to 38 5 percent. Merril Ritter of Salem Township delivered 54 lb wheat with about 14 percent moisture to Farm Bureau, the best so far. some grain tested near 20 percent moisture and many fields yielded under 12 bu per acre.
