Adam Grine, a Seneca county resident, died at his home five miles north of Carey on Saturday at 1 am after a two year illness. He was born July 23 1858 in Big Spring township and married Philomena Pethe in 1889. Surviving children include Merle Leo Mary Anna Roselette and Cletus all in various states. one son Edward died in World War I. Funeral Monday at St. Nicholas church Frenchtown with burial in St. Nicholas Cemetery.

Restaurant Raid Results in Seizure and Fines Near Hocking Valley
Last Friday night Marshal O Con nor Night Policemen John Twining and Edward Bakies and Constable Floyd Lusk raided the restaurant run by Mrs Ombra Steward east of the Hocking Valley depot. They arrested Mrs Steward and a woman giving the name Lillian Cummings of Findlay. About 20 gallons of hootch were poured away. Mrs Steward pled guilty and was fined 500 dollars plus costs and 60 dollars paid in cash with balance due in six months. The Cummings woman was ordered to leave town and warned to stay away or face arrest.
