Herbert Dible family at 405 N Vance Street found 34 school teachers from Columbia South Carolina to Detroit Michigan stranded in their yard after their Trailways bus broke down. The group, including two men, ate a picnic lunch and made friends before a second bus arrived from Toledo to carry them on to Detroit.

Wyandot Chapter Red Cross urges local residents to swim 50 miles in 3 years as part of the Swim and Stay Fit program tied to Kennedy physical fitness efforts. The supervised plan at Memorial Park Pool awards certificates every 10 miles and a gold wallet card at 50 miles. Lloyd Wayne Hill Named Principal at Gettysburg School
Lloyd Wayne Hill, son of Mr and Mrs Lloyd E Hill of Glen Avenue, has been appointed principal of the Gettysburg School in Dayton. He has taught there since 1952 and served as acting principal last year. A 1945 Carey High School graduate, he finished at Wittenberg College in 1950 and will earn a master’s degree from Miami University this year. He and his wife and their three children Sherry Vickie and Michael reside in Dayton.

Chief Vincent R. Jacob said four 17 year old Carey youths vandalized the south river water storage tank near Swan Rubber Co. They climbed a padlocked gate and a 115 foot catwalk to inscribe Class of 1964 in red letters on the tank. Names withheld due to juvenile status.
