Death of R. F. Phillips Prominent Carey Resident
R. F. Phillips died Tuesday July 2 after months of consumption. Born June 28 1805 in New Madison Ohio he lived in Carey 15 years worked 16 years as a Big Four railroad lineman. He served on the board of public affairs and belonged to the I O O F and Woodmen orders. He leaves a widow Viola Boyce nine children and siblings. Funeral Friday July 5 at United Evangelical church with I O O F and Woodmen aides attending. interment Spring Grove cemetery.

Camp Life Report From Bass Lake Michigan 1907
From Vicksburg Kalamazoo County July 5 1907 Cary Times editor notes camping at Bass Lake two and a half miles from Vicksburg. They describe a well furnished camp hotel with Sherman and Slemmer serving guests meals of bass bluegill and catfish. Visitors include two teachers and several ladies, with a boat landing and wind keeping mosquitoes away. They advertise 50 cents a day for lodging and boat use, worship on Sundays, and a distanced note about ivy poison.

Nineteen inmates were in Wyandot County jail for the year ending June 30, 1907. Eighteen white and one black. eighteen men and one woman. Appraisers Emanuel Wentz, Frank Orians and Henry Stoll report personal property totaling 2445.49 dollars with chattels 1393 dollars, money 335.90 and securities 716.59. South Park addition lots near Upper Sandusky sold at auction after a postponement. J E Line of Burmnon West Virginia conducted the sale. 132 lots sold for 25 to 130 dollars each. Despite revenue, expenses and celebration costs left Sine with a loss.

Miss Clara Fox died at her parents home five miles north of Carey on Sunday evening June 30 at 6 30. She was 17 years 3 months and 15 days. The funeral was Tuesday July 2 at St Nicholas Catholic church Frenchtown with pallbearers Miss Loreta Welter Rosa Schlachter Fionia Reinhart Matilda Kirian Elenvora Werling Verona Mathias. Many floral gifts and thanks offered to friends for kindness.
