Annual Carey Homecoming Kicks Off Next Thursday
The Carey Homecoming, sponsored by Earl Green Post of the American Legion, starts next Thursday with Miss Esther Patrick crowned by Miss Barbara Wise. The 5:30 p.m. ceremony leads to a parade of floats bands autos and marching units. Activities run through Saturday including food stalls midway rides games and a kid’s matinee Friday. The Fostoria Sky Divers will perform a 3 man chute drop Friday and a 6 man drop Saturday at 7 p.m.

Students Favor Vocational Training in Statewide Survey

Polio Vaccine Drive Closes in Wyandot County
About 11 000 residents in Wyandot County completed the oral polio vaccination series with a final dose given last Wednesday and Thursday in Sycamore Carey and Upper Sandusky. Firemen Seek Law to Regulate Trash Burning
Fire Chief Orion Wilgus and Volunteer Fireman Tom Courtad urged Carey village to draft a trash burning ordinance with four rules: keep fires 25 feet from buildings, burn only in a container, no burning after dark, and keep 25 feet clear of combustibles. Carey Farmers Cooperative Receives First Wheat
The Carey Farmers' Cooperative Co. received its first 1962 wheat last Thursday. Howard Freditz brought it in from the John Steen farm north of Carey, testing 62 pounds and 13.5 percent moisture. Of 4,600 bushels received Saturday, only three loads tested over 14 percent moisture. Harvesting of the later wheat could begin late in the week.
