Miss Gertrude Emma Long daughter of Frank Long wed Cecil James Stapley son of Harry Stapley Sunday at 1 pm Rev Fr Edwin Borntraeger officiated with the single ring service at Our Lady of Consolation rectory. Attendants were Miss Elizabeth Long and Lawrence Spoon. The gown was pastel pink crepe and bouquet sweet peas. A wedding dinner followed at the bride’s home on West street. The couple will reside at the Long home and Mr Stapley works on a farm near Carey.
Mrs Adam Hagenmaier and Ruth Clair Ingels join Mrs George Denman for a Wyandot Post Auxiliary program on WEAO at 3 PM Saturday. The show includes songs by Mrs Hagenmater Mrs Edward Gamber Mrs Robert Kuenzli and Miss Mary Schwabel with Denman in vocal groups and a duet. Ingels will perform a tap dance.
Dr W J Dinha superintendent presided at the Toledo district Methodist church meeting Monday. The conference commended Rev A Crinaberer for his work and extended unanimous invitation to the annual conference to retire him to Gatey church for a third year. The annual conference will convene in Zanesfield September 12.
A large audience attended a recital on Perry street by Mrs. Lulu H. Solomon’s School of Singing honoring Mrs. Ross Bowen and other guests. Performers included Celia Reynolds, Clarissa Reed, Mrs. Hawk, and M. C. Reynolds with readings, dances, and piano accompaniment. Guests from Toledo, Canton, Tiffin, Bowling Green, Bloomdale, Carey, Mansfield, and Chicago joined in refreshments after the show.
Miss Mary Kathryn Boyer wed Paul Heck in a country home ceremony west of Findlay. The event drew fifty guests as Rev. W. P. Alspach officiated with Elizabeth Williamson providing music. After the vows the couple left for a 10 day honeymoon before settling in Carey Ohio. Mrs. Heck taught in Fostoria and Mr. Heck studied at Ohio Wesleyan.
Howard Gunther and Miss Wini Varner both of Royal Oak Michigan were married Thursday of last week in Portland Indiana. They will reside in Highland Park Michigan where Gunther works for Highland Park Dairy Co. He is the son of Delia Gunther of West Findlay Street.
The first annual meeting will be Monday at 8:00 PM in the Library. Rev. Paul R. Clouser will report as president along with secretary treasurer Mrs. LawTrence Bland. A proposed constitution for a permanent Carey Community Chest will be presented for consideration. All contributors are welcome.
Miss Celia Reynolds headlined the Moose Gardens opening in Findlay with four dances across Saturday and Sunday evenings. Ruth Hoft and Jeanne OConnor supported with short programs including bird falls and acrobatic stunts.

Charlene Damico 12 daughter of Mr and Mrs Albert Damico of WB South Street died after illness with pneumonia following an operation. She had long poor health since early childhood. She was moved from St Collette's Milwaukee to Mercy Toledo. Funeral services were held in Toledo Thursday morning with relatives from here attending.
Frank Walters son of Mr and Mrs B F Walters and Vernice Kemmerly daughter of Mr and Mrs G A Kemmerly, both near Wharton, married Saturday evening at 9 Rev C B Botkin officiated at his Wharton home. Walters a World War veteran and farmer, bride a Wharton High School and Ohio Wesleyan University graduate and musician will live on the Walters farm north of Wharton.
E. E. Brown, taken to Findlay Home and Hospital Saturday, remains critical. J. A. Kimmel, weakened after two strokes, is at his Dow street home with little hope of recovery. Three weeks old Harold Hmerson of Grove street is seriously ill, the baby never well since birth.
Grover Cleveland Alexander once a major league star will pitch for the House of David of Benton Harbor Michigan against Don Donelson's Semi-Pros this Saturday July 7 at 4 00 p m. The veteran with Earl Oil Smith as catcher will show fans whether his big league form remains and highlight a strong House of David lineup featuring Blakeney Conley Williams Bossa and other ex major leaguers.
Miss Vivian Tracy daughter of Mrs Fred Tracy of Gibsonburg and Rev Dwayne Mengel of near Portage were married Saturday evening at the Gibsonburg Methodist church. Rev Ray Dibble officiated. Mengel recently graduated from Ohio Northern University Ada and will continue studies in Boston after a Portage area sabbatical. The Tracy family formerly lived in Carey and the bride is a niece of Mrs W Z Campbell who attended the ceremony.
Donald Wenner, Joe Newhard, Talmage Huston and Jack Tracy will leave Sunday afternoon to attend Camp Luboca at Marblehead on Lake Erie. The camp is sponsored by the United Lutheran Synod of Ohio and directed by a competent staff of leaders. It lasts two weeks.
James Kennedy, 68, died at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Francis Home after two years as a helpless invalid from paralysis. He served as custodian of the Pilgrim House at Our Lady of Consolation Shrine in Carey for many years. Born April 8, 1866, little is known about his family.
