Elaine Ziebarth June Criger John Jacoby and Donald Wenner report that the annual staff met last Monday night and will meet weekly on Mondays. Mr Woolover of Ft Wayne offered helpful suggestions for the yearbook. There is a plan to spend more time on the annual to finish by early May.
Guy Dietrich of Ada gave an illustrated lecture to the assembly on Wednesday morning. He presented a long chart with key world historical events. The audience from 5th grades to seniors enjoyed the talk and called it the most interesting and best lecture in a long time.
Salem took the early lead in the first quarter and held on to beat Carey 32 to 28. The Salem B team also defeated Carey B 30 to 17 in a decisive fashion. Carey travels to Crestline at Crestline on Friday.

The Carey Community Institute set for February 18 and 19 features two top Ohio speakers. Mrs. W. S. Ferguson of Lexingon Ohio and John Grierson of Hillsboro Ohio are scheduled to visit multiple counties, reflecting broad life and rural education themes.
A team of local bowlers traveled to Findlay Monday night and beat a city team by 108 points. Earlier on January 7 the Findlay squad lost to Carey at the Sportsman alleys by nearly 400 points. The Monday score details follow.
Sheriff Weatherholtz will sell the John Mc Laughlin home on N Vance Street Carey and 194 acres at the west door of the court house in Upper Sandusky on Saturday January 29, 1938 at 2 pm. The property is appraised at 1200 dollars with cash terms of two thirds paid.

Miss Orvetta Wentling, long a music teacher in Wyandot and Bettsville, has accepted a similar role in Vanlue where a music department has been formed.
No appropriation has been made for the purpose so no bounty will be paid on crows this year.
The annual banquet for F F A members and parents drew over 60 people at the high school dining room last Thursday. Beulah Long and fellow home economics students served a menu of tomato juice cocktail escalloped chicken mashed potatoes and gravy peas and carrots fruit salad hot rolls cherry pie a la mode and coffee. The program featured a Welcome by Harold Reinhart president, songs and performances, talks by Warren G Wieler superintendent W S Huffman and others, and a post program ping pong and checkers session.
Carey Council Knights of Columbus plans a fish supper at the Catholic hall on Friday February 11 with D A Dow as committee chair and Ralph Derr and John A Greer leading the affirmative in a debate on federal government solutions for farmers.
The Carey Farmers' Co-operative stockholders meet this afternoon in the parlors of Christ Lutheran Church. A noon dinner will be served by the church ladies.

Visitors include L A Peck and Ralph Shantz. January 31 speaker Fred Milligan will discuss a proposed method for Ohio judges elections February 7 mayor Hendricks will outline Carey development plans.
A massive blizzard sweeping from the northwest paralyzed the Midwest and South with heavy snow, flooding, and extreme cold. Michigan suffered its worst blizzard in 40 years burying areas under 30 foot drifts, while multiple states report deaths and hundreds displaced in flooded Mississippi tributaries. Temperatures plunged from 58 to 10 above, as Gov. Murphy calls it a disaster marooning ships and isolating communities.
District WPA officials in Columbus warn employees to watch the postman rival as WPA pay checks are mailed. After an outbreak of WPA check thefts leading to three men held for grand jury on forgery charges, WPA began paying by mailed check in September and thefts have risen in recent weeks according to district director Joe Kelly.

Miss Julia Baker of Upper Sandusky resigns from fourth grade in Colonel Crawford building to teach in Fremont schools. Miss Marguerite Jacobs of Findlay is hired to replace her in Carey schools and began duties Monday.
The International Air Show opens in Chicago January 28 and runs through February 6. A four motor all metal Super Skyliner built in Seattle is praised by pilots as highly efficient and simple. The exhibit features triplicate gyroscope flight instruments and duplicate other instruments showcasing latest aviation developments.
A parish gathering at Catholic hall honored Father Paul Vollrath on his name day with a program led by Father Joseph Herp. Seminarians provided a 10 piece orchestra and the Rhythm Band. children in white uniforms performed a playlet and songs. Gifts were presented by Our Lady of Consolation school pupils, and refreshments followed.
The Odd Fellows will install Carey lodge No 407 officers tonight with Deputy Grand Master S Stover and staff from Findlay leading. After the installation, refreshments will be served and all members are urged to attend.
Lloyd Stroud, a resident south of Carey, underwent a tonsil operation on Monday in Findlay. Dr Hartman served as the surgeon.
The Memorial Evangelical church revival opened with strong attendance as Rev W L Mullet of Wooster arrived to preach. Harry Thomas led singing, a trio Wendell Wentling Lon Phillips Sam Newcomer provided music, and about 83 attended the opening night. The next evening Mullet spoke on Sin to nearly 100 listeners with his solo performance. He also directs the Ohio conference ministers chorus. Services are daily at 7 30 pm with further topics planned and the public invited.
Palm Leaf Rebekah Lodge No. 656 held its officers installation on a Tuesday evening. New officers included Noble Grand Mrs Dennis De Vene and Vice Grand Miss Alice Ogg with several members named in key roles and a finance committee appointed for the coming year. A crystal gift was presented to Past Noble Grand Miss Schoenberger and refreshments followed.
A planned meeting of Northwestern Ohio agricultural leaders moves to the Armory in Findlay at 10 am on February 1. Attendees include State Director Earl Hanefeld, Dr Ramcower, Virgil Overholt, with focus on drainage issues and CCC camps retention. Temporary chairman Glenn Roberts leads plans for a permanent 20 county organization.
There will be a meeting of the stockholders of the Carey Elvetrie Telephone Co on January 27, 1935, at 7 30 p.m. at the company offices for the purpose of electing directors and other business that might come before the meeting.
The Victory class of the MEF Sunday school will gather at the home of Mrs H Frederick on E Findlay street. Mrs Ralph Hamlet assists the hostess and Mrs Frank Damon will conduct the devotionals.
Mrs Harry Schubert was brought home to Adrian on Sunday from Findlay Home and Hospital where she had been a patient for several weeks.
