New NYC Aero Train Passes Carey En Route to Toledo Exhibition
The New York Central Railroad's GMC Aero passenger train passed through Carey at about 8 am Tuesday on its way to Toledo for an all‑day exhibition. The bullet-nosed diesel engine and stripped coaches shine with red trim and a two‑axle end design. Officials say top speed will exceed 100 mph, with much lower purchase and operating costs. The Agriculture Club met January 12 in the agriculture room with 27 members. Mike Ball led the session and a senior trip was proposed if a suitable place could be arranged with the administration.
