Auctioneers Sell New Riegel Telephone Exchange at Public Sale
Dick Wenzinger and Carl Scherger sold the New Riegel telephone exchange at a public sale on January 7. Richard C. Lauer bid $6,000 in the house, with older wooden box phones fetching up to $15 as curios. The sale totaled about $6,800 to be distributed to old New Riegel stockholders. On Saturday January 28 Wenzinger and Scherger plan to auction the Alvada telephone company property.
