Home Demonstration Club to Present One-Act Play in Columbus
Local Home Demonstration Club members who wrote and staged a one-act play have been invited to perform during Farmers Week in Columbus. The original contributors Mrs. Mark Karr Mrs. Russel Gottfried and Mrs. Walter Gottfried are assisted by Mrs. D A Dow. The play has been rewritten and improved and will be staged at the University on Wednesday January 31 at 10 00 am. This honor should draw many locals to Columbus.

Death at Findlay claims Mrs. R. E. Mertz at 41
Mrs. Wm. Leader traveled to Findlay after being summoned by the death of her friend Mrs. R. E. Mertz who died Tuesday morning of sugar diabetes. Funeral services were held today. The 41 year old widow leaves behind a husband and a son at Ohio State University.

Local Inventor Seeks Patent For Ford Towing Device
Leroy Wonder applied for patent rights on a self designed tow contrivance created to pull a Nord behind another vehicle. He devised it to move his threshing outfit between sites without needing a driver. The invention attaches to the steering mechanism, allowing the Nord to roll with its draft vehicle. A C and Y Wreck Near Carey After Side Collision
Wednesday afternoon an A C and Y engine and caboose wrecked three miles east of Carey beyond Poverty Run. A broken flange sent the engine into the ditch on its side, dragging the caboose off the track. No injuries to fireman or engineer and minor tie damage before help arrived.

Carey Man Frederick Vigor Undergoes Appendicitis Operation
Word comes from Carey friends that Frederick Vigor of Detroit is recovering from an appendicitis operation. He married during the holidays and, while in Chicago on a wedding trip, was sent to a hospital for the procedure. He is a former Carey boy who was gassed overseas in World War I and has not been well since.

Fire engine eyed for Prospect purchase by local officials
HH B Turnbell of The Phelps Motor Co. and Councilmen Ralph Kurtz Elza Jacobs and Fred Lytle toured Prospect Tuesday to inspect a new fire engine built on a Reo chassis and equipped to throw 300 gallons of water per minute at 120 pounds pressure. It carries enough chemical to tackle sizable blazes.
