Death of Missing Flier Mangett Confirmed

War department confirms Lt. Marcus Mangett Jr. death after he went missing May 7 1943 during a B 17 reconnaissance flight from Port Moresby New Guinea toward New Ireland. Survived by parents five sisters and attended Calvert high school and De Sales college. A memorial mass was held at St Josephs church.

Dorcas Bible class of the Methodist Sunday school met at Mrs. Grant Johnson's home last Thursday. President Mrs. L. E. Cpl LaMoine Fagan son of Mr and Mrs Russell Fagan of 196 W Brown avenue was honorably discharged from the US Army January 9 at Camp Atterbury Indiana after three years and five months of service He served as a dental technician in the medical corps with nineteen months of foreign service including fourteen in Northern Canada and five months in the Philippines and Japan He spent last Thursday and Friday with his parents and friends in Carey then returned to Pine Grove Pa where he and his wife have an apartment He has no definite plans for the future.
