Bliss outlines tax use at P T A meeting
Walton B. Bliss told the P T A at the high school that the new three cent sales tax funds more than schools. He said schools get about one and one fifth cents, with funds also supporting counties municipalities state relief old age pensions and merchant discounts. He urged a state plan for equalizing school opportunities before the next General Assembly. Saturday 97 second payments were distributed to Ridge and Crawford township farmers. 148 contracts from these townships were accepted but 51 checks did not arrive. The payment totaled 7245 dollars in the community and county wide 746 contracts were approved with many checks not yet received.
