Local Bank Helps Colleges Through 1964 Gifts
The Peoples Bank of Carey joined Ohio firms in supporting education through the Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges. In 1958 the Foundation reports gifts totaling 1,329,189 shared by 33 non-tax-supported colleges, the largest year on record with an increase of 182,828 since 1951. Executive Director Harold Schellenger notes the minimum annual gifts to sustain operating funds remains 2,000,000.

Epiphany Feast Observed by St Anthony Group
The St Anthony Fraternity of the Third Order of St. Francis met at Our Lady of Consolation School cafeteria after Sunday church services to observe Epiphany. Fr. James Withrow of 411 W Brown Avenue has earned the Professional Engineers license from the Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers after eight years of experience and education. Diller Building to be dismantled by new owner J F Dible
J F Dible purchased the Diller Building at 203 E Findlay Street from Mrs Rose Diller and plans a parking lot after removal. The site traces to 1837 1845 with several transfers, including Ranger Carey Frederick and the Diller family, and likely built about 1875 by Samuel Booth and Alpheus A Aldrich. Purchase prices ranged from 91.50 to 15000.
