Lola Wentzer Yentzer aged shortly after 1:30 p m Wednesday died at her parents home six miles south of Carey after years of anaemic illness. She married Lea Yentzer in 1946 and leaves three children Donna 4 and others aged 9 months. Funeral Saturday 10 20 a m at Wharton Church of God with Rev Guy Miller and Rev J W Shock officiating burial in Wharton cemetery. She joined Beech Grove United Brethren at 14 and is survived by her parents Mr and Mrs C V Wentz a sister Mrs Harvey Wise and brothers Clarence and Paul.
At the University of Toledo Alumni Association banquet in the Hotel Secor parrakeet room Miss Hazel Geiner presided. Speakers included Dr John W Be representing the University and board member J G Halapleus along with President A Monroe Stowe Dr Ben Waggoner Dr J M Barnes Aldron Miss Marguerite Glarke and Dr I N Zeis of Carey. Zeis and Barnes, old classmates, had not seen each other for 30 years since their 1894 graduation on March 12.
Miss Alvan Laws at Ponce Porto Rico sends a Christmas letter to Mr and Mrs Richard Smith describing tropical Christmas scenery. She mentions a tree at the yard, rice and beans for the meal, and plans to include a string of Porto Rican seeds as beads in the letter.
Dr. Charles S Bauslin of Harrisburg announced the death of W W Davidson in Detroit during a holiday visit by Mr and Mrs Davidson. Dr Bauslin assisted at the funeral on Christmas Day. Mrs Davidson was formerly Nettie Smith of Carey and the couple had visited Carey in the fall.
In Columbus, Hatten, a freau auditor, visits for the Carey Farmers Cappego. The annual stockholders meeting is set for January 10 at 1 09 p m at Moose Hall. BS Anderson will present the audit and speak. he leads the grain marketing department of the farm bureau.
Carey's new fire apparatus remains in the paint shop with no definite delivery date set. In light of recent disastrous fires nationwide residents would feel reassured by the arrival of the new equipment.
