Carey Community Club Plans Banquet and Meeting

The February Carey Community Club meeting featured a hybrid seed corn presentation by Mr Hammond of Wannseon with Pete Prior of Delaware assisting. A banquet for the next meeting on March 25 was approved, with Ralph Heck and J A Vaughn arranging. Hurd and Brayton Return Home After Wreck

Post offices warn hotels, rooming houses, and gas stations to watch for Joseph Seim ski. He cashed stolen money orders in Michigan and Ohio and looted blank forms numbered 30519 to 50600. Also known as G B Goodwin Edward R Connelly and C Olsen, he travels a 1935 Terraplane with Maryland plates 158 443 and West Virginia plates under the floor mat. Ohio officials announce 1940 motor vehicle license plates with white figures on a dark blue background will go on sale March 1 and may be used after March 10. Owners must have tags by April 1 or risk arrest. Local registrars issue plates and take applications. truck and trailer licenses mailed from Columbus. Rates: $7 for cars up to 25 hp, $10 for 25 to 31 hp, $16 for over 31 hp.

Grandstand Destroyed at Crawford Fairgrounds

In Bucyrus on February 24 a fire destroyed the Crawford county fairgrounds grandstand within 15 minutes with no one present. Loss is estimated at 7600 dollars. The structure had been rebuilt and enlarged in 1911 after the fair moved to the current site. County commissioners planned to consider rebuilding options soon.
