A regular old timer's bicycle belonging to Herbert Lenner of near Carey is shown in the Carey Auto Top shop window on BE Findlay street. Acquired 47 years ago by Lenner's father Alvin from John Welz, it is nearly 60 years old. Original cost was $125. No maker's name plate or manufacturer is known. The bicycle features red wooden-spoked wheels and an egg shaped sprocket.

Death of Forest Calmes 18 at Dayton Hospital
Relatives report the death of Forest Calmes 18 son of Mr and Mrs Paul Calmes of New Carlisle. He died in a Dayton hospital from Brights disease after about five weeks illness. Surviving are his parents two sisters Marjorie and Rite and brother Rex. He was born near Carey and had worked at Patterson Field where his father is a long time mechanic.

Canadian Sergeant Carriker Passes Through Carey
Set. A. J. Carriker of St. Louis Missouri a member of the Essex Scottish infantry regiment stationed at Kitchener Ontario passed through Carey Wednesday on his return to Canada after a furlough. Carriker an American citizen has served in the Canadian army for 13 months and is well satisfied with conditions there. He had been given a 20 day furlough but it was recalled after two days at home.
