Mrs Byers Learns Husband Missing In Action Over Germany
Telegram from the secretary of war informs Mrs Fesatyeld Byers that her husband Lt John F Byers has been missing in action over Germany since January 16. Byers, 21, is a Carey high school graduate who joined the U S Army Air Corps in 1942 and trained in California and Arizona. He served as a B 17 Flying Fortress pilot overseas since November 1944 and has earned the Air Medal. He is the son of Mr and Mrs A F Byers of S Vance street and is married to Elaine Thome.

CANTEEN NOTES AND SCHEDULE UPDATE
The canteen reports a ten dollar contribution to the March of Dimes from Sunday evening receipts. Mason Named Chairman of Utilities Commission

Mitten Brothers in Navy Tale From Carey Family
Howard Mitten and Sgt Raymond Mitten, sons of the late Gilbert and Mrs. Mitten, have been seeing each other in England in recent months. They have two other brothers in the Navy. Clarence Mitten, F1c, is in a government hospital at Saiu bridge Maryland after surgery to remove a bone fragment from his left arm, the result of a training accident.
