Fatal Accident on Big Four Tracks Kills Charles Shields
Charles Shields, 24, a brakeman for the Big Four railroad, died after a Sunday evening accident on the Big Four line near the north junction. He was stepping between cars to uncouple when he tripped and the moving cars amputated his right leg and injured his left. He died at Sandusky hospital after transfer by train.

Good Man Deary Dies After Christian Life in Fostoria
James LE Deary, born July 19 1868 in Fostoria, died at his Biglick township home on Thursday at 2 30 am. He married Margaret Newomer Feb 19 188? and leaves wife, mother Mrs Catherine Jones of McCutchenville, sister Mrs A Runyon, and half brother EH M Jones. A Baptist Brethren church member and minister for about twenty years, he suffered asthma long before his death. Funeral at Fostoria on Sunday at 2 00 pm with Rev L A Dickey officiating. Interment in Fostoria cemetery.

Remarkable Family Sketch of Mrs Bellis of Iowa
The obituary recalls Margaret Schamp Bellis born 1821 in New Jersey, married 1836, moved to Iowa 1850. She had twelve children, nine at death, and lived 88 years dying November 1908 near Essex with devoted spouse and extensive descendants. A lifelong Methodist, she received comfort from Pastor Harned.

Longtime North Vance Street resident Mrs Weber dies
Mrs. F J Weber an octogenarian born Lucy Ann Berger in Paris Stark County Ohio April 7 1625 died at her North Vance Street home on December 23. She married Francis J Weber November 3 1844 and lived in Adrian Carey and finally this city. She leaves six sons and five daughters plus twenty grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. Her funeral was held December 26 at the Methodist church with Rev Stewart Baumgardner officiating and Springrove cemetery interment. She bore hardships of the Civil War era and supported the Union Army with a husband and two sons.
