Tragic Crash Kills Gannon and Jordan Near Carey
A Packard Twin Six overturned in a ditch six miles east of Carey and two miles south of McCutchenville. Gannon 40 and Donald Jordan were killed. Miss Davey suffered serious injuries. Miss Carey and others survived. The car crashed after missing a turn at high speed and the horn could not be shut off. Undertakers moved the bodies as rescue efforts continued.

Fireman Injured Carrying Cylinder In Quarry Accident
Virgil Thompson a fireman in the boiler room at the stone plant slipped on ice while helping move a 150 pound three foot cylinder from a quarry pump to the machine shop. The cylinder struck him above the left temple. He was initially listed in serious condition but is rallying with hopes for recovery. His wife Mrs Ellen Thompson of Vanlue is assisting at his side. the couple had a 10 day old baby at the time.
