Carey Woman Dies After Illness at Local Hospital
Mrs. Verne Lanning of Carey aged 43 died Saturday night at the Findlay Home and Hospital after six weeks of illness. Funeral at 2 PM Tuesday at the Local Methodist Episcopal church with Rev. Marion B. Tinsler officiating. Burial in Spring Grove cemetery. Survived by husband C. W. Lanning and three children. Active in church and Eastern Star, she moved to Carey four years ago from Arlington. The Findlay Republican notes the hospital oxygen and resuscitation efforts led by Captain John Hosafros and Red Cross personnel.

Alvin McPike 69 Dies Near Sycamore
Alvin McPike, 69, died at 5 30 p m Sunday at his brother Albert's home near Sycamore after eight weeks of illness. Born February 15, 1867 in Tymochtee Township Wyandot County, he was married to Sarah Emma Parker who died earlier. Surviving are several stepchildren, three brothers Albert, John near Sycamore and Isaac of Bella Veron, and one sister Mrs Ward Pontius of Iowa. Funeral Tuesday at 1 30 p m at Staum Moore funeral home Sycamore and 2 p m at Belle Vernon church. Burial in Pleasant Ridge cemetery.

Icy street crash injures none. cars damaged at Simonts corner
Monday morning about 9 George Grady drove a 1929 Chrysler on Simonts street when it skidded on ice and struck a 1935 Chevrolet owned by Norman Zahn parked on S Vance. The impact pushed Zahn's car into an Oldsmobile belonging to C C Simonis causing damage to Zahn’s left rear fender tire and bumper while the Simonis car suffered no damage.
