Mohawk High Wins Outstanding Award from Ohio Academy of Science
The Ohio Academy of Science named Mohawk High School in Sycamore Township among eight Ohio high schools with outstanding science programs. Mohawk will receive 150 dollars and a commemorative plaque for improving its science curriculum facilities and resources, assessed by several criteria.

J. W. Smith Attends State Education Board Meeting
Superintendent James W. Smith of Mohawk School attended the State Board of Education meeting in Columbus on Monday as a representative of the Ohio Association of Local School Superintendents executive committee. The board discussed a master plan for district organization and proposed three district types. The state board considered delaying adoption for further study and a recommendation to release 1,941,840 dollars for partial transportation reimbursements to non public pupils. Dr. Martin Essex urged earlier reimbursements, and Smith was invited to tour the Mahoning Valley Vocational School on December 15.
