Educational Room Expansion Nears June Completion

The new chemistry and physics laboratories at the high school are planned for completion in June with a lecture room, extra storage, and a dark room. The $25,000 project, funded by $10,000 in government funds matched by local money, includes partitions, cement work, and fluorescent lighting under the supervision of Principal Cloyce Wentling. Myron Koch notes the upgrades will modernize facilities and relieve crowding in science classrooms.

The Carey Band Mothers thank the community for aiding an intensive drive to fund 100 band uniforms costing 8895.00. Deposits paid, balance due in 30 and 60 days. Rebekah Lodge Holds Annual Christmas Party

The Rebekah Lodge held its Christmas party Monday December 12 at the K of P Hall with a 6:30 potluck. Twenty one members attended the 8 o clock meeting. officers for 1967 were elected: Noble Grand Marilyn Rettig, Vice Grand Marilyn Sammet, Recording Secretary Gladys DeVene, Financial Secretary Lucile Peters, Treasurer Alice Rettig, Trustee Isabelle Twining. Installation set for January 23 1967. Auditing committee included Jesse Hosa fros Iola Schmuck and Bernice Williams. A card to Mrs. Hazel Parks was signed by members. Legion Purchases Carey's East Findlay Building for Post

The American Legion Earl Green Post 344 bought the former Soda Grill on East Findlay St in Carey Ohio on December 12 1966. After remodeling the group aims to occupy by February 1967 with a fully equipped kitchen for activities. The Twentieth Century Veterans group will sell the South Vance St building from the twenties. Interested parties may contact Postmaster William Howard or Don Keller. The East Findlay site will host the annual New Years Eve Dance.

Two Accidents Investigated Last Week

Two traffic incidents from December were investigated. Linda Row swerved to avoid a car on South Street and hit a parked vehicle owned by Frederick Williams, causing $400 damage to Row and $350 to Williams. No charges. Virginia Beckley failed to stop at a stop sign on Patterson Street and collided with Zenith McLarkey’s car, causing $25 and $75 damages respectively. No charges.

New American Flag Flies Over Legion Home

Wyandot County Council for Retarded Children met December 7 at the school. Mrs Hussey opened with a prayer. Minutes approved. Teachers thanked the Council for Thanksgiving dinner for children and teachers. Reports by Mrs Hussey, Bob Hussey, Mr Snyder, and Mr Greer. Next meeting set for December 12. Health nurse urged ambulance consent from parents for emergencies when no doctor is reachable.

Carey improved to 4-0 after home wins over Colonel Crawford and Arlington. The Blue Devils shot 46 percent, with Tom Myers scoring 21 and Keith Orians 15.
