The Christmas Seal Sale raised 180.98 dollars with about 35 pupils attaining Health Crusader status by selling a dollar or more. The fifth grade led per capita sales with Second Harvest close behind, while Ted Heck of the third grade sold nearly five dollars. Proceeds fund local health work as other counties report strong campaigns.
The bulletin warns ex servicemen that the closing date to apply for adjusted service certificates is January 1 1928 Many communities have completed drives but some areas lack a concerted effort leaving eligible veterans and dependents未to file applications with local posts of the American Legion Veterans of Foreign Wars Disabled American Veterans and the American Red Cross.
State registrar I R Plummer reports a rise in grade crossing fatalities. In the first seven months of 1927 Ohio deaths from crossing accidents reached 116, up from 100 in the same period of 1926. Projected 1927 total about 225, versus 187 in 1926 and 165 in the prior year.

The Columbus Citizens report the Ohio State freshmen wrestlers showed well against Coach Mooney's varsity in the University Gym, winning three of eight matches. Key notes include Wickiser 158 pounds losing to Tarr, Christoper 145 defeating Bartell, and Lytton 135 defeating Bright. Captain Hummel with a knee issue and Ackerly with a shoulder problem were sidelined.
Alma Shuman and Elmer Leonard of Carey were married Sunday at the bride's East Findlay street home in a ceremony led by Rev. J. B. Shellhaas. The couple will reside in Carey after a Los Angeles wedding trip.
The health officer W C Anderson reports no quarantines are in effect in Carey though a smallpox quarantine had been listed at the R Moser residence on North Street. Further updates to follow as needed.

Officers of Crawford Chapter No 168 O E S were installed Friday evening with Mrs KF A Galbroner as installing officer. Several officers unable to attend due to illness will be installed later. A social hour and refreshments followed the installation.

William Henry Ogg of Carey is among about 150 graduates at Ohio State University’s December 21 autumn convocation. Nine states and several foreign lands are represented. Acting Dean Alonzo H. Tuttle will deliver the address and President George W Rightmire will present diplomas. The ceremony ends the autumn quarter with seven of eleven colleges represented and the graduate school largest with 37 graduates.
The Christmas program titled The Search For a King moves to Friday at 7 30 PM. A combined play and cantata will feature choir and Sunday school members with public invitation. An early service on Christmas morning at six will include choir music and a sermon by Rev Paul R Clouser.
Two Delaware shoe shops were hit by a puzzling galosh theft scheme as a man tried on galoshes at one store then left with a pair from another. Police hunt the suspect who fled with one galosh for each foot.
A Christmas pageant titled When the Star Shone will be presented at Vanlue Methodist Church on Christmas night December 25. The event features about 50 cast members and an early performance by the church orchestra. The public is invited.

Eight farm women from Lucas county set up a market eight miles from Toledo selling produce, milk, baked goods, pies and sandwiches. They borrowed 75 dollars for a market building, earned 900 dollars with 15 percent for overhead, clearing over 40 dollars each. They expect a profitable next season as they gain experience.

Mrs Millie Payne attended the funeral of her sister Mrs Catherine Dial in Bucyrus. Mrs Dial was 83 years old.
A baby boy named James Cregr arrived Monday to Mr and Mrs A Leasure on WN Vance Street. The birth notice notes the newborn weighs about 90 pounds and is welcomed by the family.

The Ada Ohio farmer grows the Clarge variety on a black tile drained soil, with average stalks per hill and planned seed sale next season.
