Oil leaking from a furnace at Scheck's Market east of town ignited Friday at 3 45 pm. Firemen battled flames that burned the ceiling and charred beams and floor of the upstairs apartment occupied by Mr and Mrs Walter Meyers family. Furnace and building damage estimated at $700, smoke damage to store and apartment, loss covered by insurance.

Police Justice W R Terry disposed of three cases on December 10. Ray J Coldiron 28 of 12714 S Vance Street was fined 200 dollars and 13.80 dollars costs for assault and battery and jailed at Wyoming county jail after inability to pay. charges filed by Carl Gatchell.
