Carey Police Chief Vincent Jacob says a suspected check forger is in Franklin County jail on a $50,000 bond. Felix A. Moore allegedly cashed an $88.63 check at Donelson's Restaurant last month. The case was sent to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation in London for analysis. Moore is also wanted by Fayette County.

At Carey High School on December 13 the board saluted retiring Dr E V McKee and Vincent Brown after seven and 124 years of service respectively. New members William Hershman and David Myers attended as D W Myers outlined Carey High School’s NCACS evaluation progress and potential February on site inspection. The board discussed Public Law 89 10 projects via the State Department of Education and pending final bid plans. considered area vocational school Merits with Marion option and planned January informational meeting in Marion. Resignations of Clair Shane and Mrs Virgil Kear were accepted. replacements David O Flaherty and Mrs Forest Wenner were hired as bus driver and cafeteria worker. Substitutes were approved for Mrs Sylvester Myers and James Troiano. An on site 20 7/8 inch band saw offer was accepted and a 14 inch saw purchased. A beginners sewing class to start January 13 1966 was approved with six week sessions and $6 fee, contact Miss Jennie Steen by January 7 1966. The Adult Farmers Class budget was approved for start after January 1.

Carey Motorist Charged With Manslaughter in Ohio Crash
Richard Healey, 40, of Carey, faces second degree manslaughter charges in Tiffin municipal court over a September 24 head-on collision on Route 23 north of Alvada. Detroit residents Queenie and Clark Jones died when their car was struck by Healey’s vehicle. He was treated at Blanchard Valley Hospital for injuries. Witnesses said Healey’s car weaved and crossed the centerline.
