The Carey High School Concert Band will debut its Christmas concert for the year on Thursday evening, December 21 in the high school auditorium. The program features band numbers, novelty and solo features with admission charged at the door for public attendance.
A list of titles and authors shows a collection added to the Dorcas Carey Public Library shelves including World’s Best, Christmas Without Johnny, Far Lands, Blaze Finda the Trail, Caddie Woodlawn, Kristie and the Colt, Spring Comes Riding, Silver Spurs for Cowboy Boots, Squirrely of Wilboro Hill, Eddie and the Fire Engine, Sea Star Orphan of Chincoteague, Deborah’s White Winter, Hominy, Missing Brother, If I Ran the Zoo, Haunted Hound, Abraham Lincoln, and George Washington among others.
A holiday revue by Jayne Coffey dance school at Sycamore High School auditorium Tuesday evening December 19 at 7 p.m. with 125 participants aged 4 to 16. Proceeds go to Wyandot County March of Dimes. donations of $1 or more welcomed. Leo T. Jones of Upper Sandusky chairs the county committee.

The Union Past Presidents' club of Findlay and Carey reviews Woman's Benefit association details. It will meet Monday evening December 18 at the home of Mrs Lester Baker in Benton Ridge with a 2 cent Christmas gift exchange between Mystery Sisters.
The M B club meets at 7 pm this Thursday at Mrs Dean Wright’s home south of Carey for a potluck supper and Christmas party. Mystery Sisters names will be revealed.
The American Legion Auxiliary will hold a regular meeting at 8 p m on Monday December 18. All Auxiliary dues for the current year must be paid and members are asked to contact the secretary if dues remain unpaid.

Downtown Carey gears up for Christmas with extended hours from December 13 to 23. Local merchants such as Houk & Son Burson Clothing Mapes Rexall Drug Economy Moore’s Store and more will stay open Thursday afternoons and evenings December 14 and 21. Free auto parking will be available in the business district each evening except Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Members of Christ Lutheran Church will mark the 92nd founding anniversary this Sunday during the regular worship at 10930. Special recognition will honor those with 60 years of membership. The service features junior and senior choir performances as Christ Lutheran continues to grow within the Synod of Ohio with 1065 baptized, 8 confirmed, and 5416 communing members.
Returns from the 13 PMA community committe e elections have been announced by Robert Sav ergard chair man of the Wyandot county PMA committee. Township selections list chairmen and members who will serve as delegates to the county convention. Committeemen take office January 1 to administer the 1951 agricultural conservation program and related farm support programs.
Local review No 27 Woman's Benefit association will meet Friday evening December 22 at Mrs G Snyder's home on W Brown avenue. Officers for 1961 will be elected. A social hour will follow with a potluck supper and a 26 cent Christmas gift exchange. Good attendance is desired.

On December 5 Lee Yentzer found a red four foot square parachute in a tree containing a U S Weather Bureau radiosonde. The instrument carried a notice to finder stating it was from Joliet Illinois sent November 28 and explaining its purpose as a weather data transmitter from up to 12 miles high. Public Relations chair of the Carey Kiwanis Club hosted a Monday evening meeting with Gail Newell introducing Charles Telling of Carey as guest speaker. Telling, an industrial engineer for U S Glass Co at Tiffin Ohio, demonstrated stemware production and color methods using samples. New officers and several new members are to be inducted next week.

Carey Blue Devils lost 50 49 to undefeated Harpster in a tight game played without varsity starters. Paul England led Carey with 11 points while Ralph Harpster scored 14 for the winners and Brents added 19 for Harpster. Reserve squad won 68 24. Friday's Mt Gilead game postponed to January 6 due to icy roads.
Mr and Mrs Gerald Traxler of Patterson street received a call from their son Don A T A N serving on the USS Sicily north of Korea. He had just arrived at Treasure Island as one of ten men selected to return to the States. He was unsure about visiting Carey but was reported in good condition.
Carey Blue Devils place two players on the all Ohio Class B team as standout stars John Sammet tackle and Jim A Hall back lead the selections. The honors were decided by state sports writers coaches and officials and recognized as official by the state coaches association.
The Moose lodge hosts a second dinner dance this Sunday at the hall. Admission is by green receipt. Dinner, prepared by the Women of the Moose, costs 60 cents with a 5:30 to 7:30 dinner window and dancing from 8:30 to 11:30.
The Seiberling Rubber Co and local 278 I O entertain employees and families at a Christmas party beginning at 4 30 p m Sunday December 17 in the Knights of Pythias hall A lunch will be served.
