Lt. H Kirtland Straw Leads Whiting Field Personnel Department

Wesleyan Guild Christmas Party Set For December 13

Soldier Arrives Home From Puerto Rico for Christmas

Mrs A E Coppler received a telegram saying her son Cpl Merle Coppler has arrived safely in the United States after two years with the U S Army in Puerto Rico. He plans to be in Carey for the Christmas holidays. Cpl Wheodord Jesko, stationed with Coppler, also arrived in the States and will be in Carey on a furlough soon.

Honor Service Men at Sunday Memorial Church Service

Observance of National Service Day at Memorial Evangelical Church honored 40 percent of attendees standing as Rev. H. Allen led prayers. Farmers Short Course on Machinery Repair Starts

Sanner to Close Carey Grocery After 20 Years in Business

Ralph Sanner who ran a grocery in the Hoff block corner of Vance and South streets for 20 years announces closing out stock and quitting. Regulations and present conditions influenced his decision. He and his brother Ed ward Sanner came from Mc Comb to buy the Carey Grocery store once managed by the late SSB Beitler. Edward Sanner stayed only six months.
