Fire discovered Monday around 11 25 in the southeast part of town destroyed the garage and a Studebaker auto. A short circuit in the car is believed to have started the blaze. the house was unscathed despite the 20 foot distance.

Tuesday Ed Hill Allen Black and Win Youngpeter hunted on Joe Smiths farm three miles northeast of town. Hill received a flesh wound to the left hand when the pistol exploded while he knocked an apple from a tree. He also sustained chest wounds but no bones or tendons were damaged.

Deane Tobias from California reports English walnuts produced by the Saticoy Walnut Growers Association. J W Miller says Tobias and his father delivered 83,288 pounds to the warehouse with about 4,000 pounds left for sale. The crop may total around 26,000 dollars. The association processed and shipped 180 tons in 29 hours, with 375 carloads sent during a 30 day season. J W Miller received a sample box from Deane Tobias.
