Carey shut out Upper 12 to 0 in a lopsided Thursday game at the ballpark. Carey scored early and again in the third quarter as Upper failed to threaten the goal amid wet field conditions and scattered incomplete passes.
Mrs Juliette Williams aged 42 wife of Willis Franklin Williams died at 59 Tomb street Tiffin Tuesday at 1 p m following a ten week illness caused by gall bladder disease She was born Oct 9 1878 in Wyandot County daughter of Andrew and Mary Anne Amrine She married April 23 1900 The family moved from Upper Sandusky eight years ago Survived by husband three daughters Leona Alice Elsie two brothers and three sisters Burial was in St Paul Cemetery west of town Friday forenoon with attendance from relatives and Ada and Carey residents Rev L H Amore officiated
Mrs Jemima Nemire was struck and dragged by a rapidly driven car while waiting to board a street car in Findlay. The driver fled the scene and has not been identified. If found, he faces manslaughter charges and possible extreme punishment.

J L Herndon left Monday morning for Three Rivers Michigan after being summoned by the death of his brother James aged about 45. The deceased was born in Carey and spent many years living at home.

Four Epworth League services were held Monday through Friday evenings at the Methodist Church drawing large crowds. Friday’s program featured Rev. J. M. The Carey Chamber of Commerce begins a house to house canvass this week to gather industrial information. An industrial plant seeks a location and requires a guarantee of a certain amount of female labor. Citizens are urged to aid chamber representatives in obtaining the needed data.
Revival services at St Johns A B church draw good attendance with growing interest. The Big Lick quartet will sing next Sunday evening and the Amore brothers are planned for the following Sunday. An invitation requests attendance and support.
The infant James Hambert Wight was christened at the home of Mrs Woeht tomas Mio and Vere iy TMH bert ba ber. Sponsors included Mr and Mrs James Wight and Pastor Ponuth Spard of the Lutheran church.

The United Evangelical church hosted a union Thanksgiving service led by Rev. I H Amore with music by the youth choir. Dr Luther Spaid read the president's proclamation, Rev W F Martin offered scripture and prayer, and Rev J C Rinehart delivered a notable sermon on gratitude and unity.
The Missionary Society of the United Evangelical church hosted a Sunday evening pageant titled The Open Door to Missions. Rev I H Amore led devotionals. Readings included Africa and My Beccy’s Bargain. The cast featured Mrs George Perkins Spirit of Missions and others portraying America Peace War Suffering Porto Rican Woman Mexican girls Alaskan girls Indian Chief and Son Immigrant Woman Mountain Boy and more. A vocal duet by Mrs Elza Jacobs and Mrs A E Constien closed with My Mite Box as the offering was collected for evangelical missions in China.
Funeral services for B F Kurtz were held last Wednesday at the Lutheran church. Pastor E E Luther Spaid officiated with Rev F Martin aiding. A quartet dueled songs and the pallbearers listed Roy Kirkwood N Cosgray H A Kear Clem Alspach J A New comer and O L Shumate. Interment followed in Spring Grove cemetery.

Marshal C M Brown located the trunk owner on Wednesday. Mrs Anita Doyle of Fryeburg Maine is identified as the trunk owner from last August when she moved to Maine. The trunk and two cretonne boxes matched the description found in Gaston Heights. items missing include a man’s corduroy suit.
An automobile collision occurred south of town when Mrs Ambrose Orrans’ wagon crossed Vanee Street and was struck by a car driven by Fox soneof Mroo and Mes Cha cox. The Fox car rammed a telephone pole, embedding the crank, but no one was hurt. Mrs Orrans’ car suffered only minor fender damage while the Fox car sustained serious engine damage.
