Last Thursday forenoon a well attended Thanksgiving service was held at the United Brethren church with Rev. C. D. Moore in charge. Rev. Charles Bowers of Lancaster gave the opening prayer, Rev. E. Luther Spaid read scripture, and Rev. P. F. DeVeaux preached on Psalm 108:1-5. The Corinthian Quartette sang, and the congregation closed with America. Proceeds aided church charities.

The National Association for the Study and Prevention of Tuberculosis launches a nationwide sale of Red Cross Christmas Seals to fund anti tuberculosis work. Over 25 000 agents and 100 000 volunteers will distribute seals through drug stores post offices and public booths across nearly all states. Projections aim for 100 000 000 seals with at least 400 000 raised for local campaigns. Seals cost one cent each and proceeds stay in the community.
