High School Social Events And Student Activities Highlight Week
The senior school reports a December 5 Christmas party in the auditorium with 15 cent entry, planned by the student council and featuring treasure hunts cake walks and brain tests. Chapel, lyceum lectures, dramatic reading and a comedy play entertained students as the Sophomore class led devotionals and a violin solo. Several classes posted perfect spelling dictations and a box social hawked by the science class with mixed dancing after the auction.

A meeting of the Red Cross committee township trustees and school authorities decided to help needy Kentuckians north of town by clothing children for school rather than giving Christmas baskets. The trustees, though their poor fund is exhausted, will prevent starvation with frugal rations. Herman will transport children in a Ford truck temporarily and books will be supplied by the board of education. County education board appointed Claren Sauss er assistant school attendance officer to ensure regular attendance.
