Thanksgiving operetta stages two shows by 7th grade
On Wednesday November 25 the 7th grade presented the Thanksgiving operetta Thirty Minutes With the Pilgrims first at 1 pm for the grade school and again at 2 pm for the high school. Cast photos were taken between performances featuring John Cushman Dennis Yingling Mary Cushman and many others with Sibyl Wentling Susanne Greer as accompanists.

Carey youth fined for property destruction in car window incident
In Municipal Court Paul May of Carey 18 was fined 20 dollars plus 38.60 costs and ordered to replace a broken car window belonging to Lawrence Williams of Tiffin. The altercation involved two groups of boys on High Street and a dispute over an open car door. Officer Hobart Tong made the arrest. Dwight Orians 18, also of Carey, paid a 10 dollar fine and 860 dollars in costs for reckless operation, arrested by Officer Vincent Jacob.

The Village of Carey announces billing rules for the Municipal Electric and Water office. Bills are due by 5 p m on the 10th each month unless the 10th falls on a Saturday or a holiday or Sunday. In those cases deadlines shift to the following Monday noon or 5 p m the next day. Mail postmarked the 10th and bills placed in the door box the evening of the 10th are honored. Office hours are 8 a m to 5 p m weekdays and 8 a m to 12 noon Saturdays.

Carey merchants will keep stores open until 9 pm starting Friday December 11 with Saturday 10 pm closing and Thursday December 17 afternoon hours. Alphonso James Hart of Dunedin Florida died Monday at about 80 years old. He lived in Florida for about 20 years and was a retired AC and Y railroad employee.
