Christopher Spangler Baker born February 24 1845 in Crawford township died November 21 1908 at 63 years 9 months 27 days. He married Victoria Sayler of Seneca county and left seven children four sons three daughters. Survived by three daughters three grandchildren and four brothers four sisters. Buried at Bethel cemetery near McCutchenville with Rev. T J Carey officiating.

Thanksgiving Dance at Patl Farm Hosts Fifty Guests
On Thanksgiving evening Mr. and Mrs. Henry Patl entertained about fifty guests at a country dance on the Francis Pahl farm three miles south of town. Music was provided by Louis Orians and Edward McDonald. The event served as a farewell as the Pahl family moves to town on Wednesday and will reside on Clay Street. In spring a new residence will be built on the Clay Street lot recently purchased from Perry Crawford.

The death of Mrs Sarah W Brayton is announced. Born February 17 1823 in Juniata County Pennsylvania she lived near Wooster Flatrock Carey and on the Brayton farm northeast of Carey. Funeral at United Evangelical church Carey November 22 with Rev M Greene Rev Baker and Rev Stewart Baungardner officiating. Burial at Spring Grove cemetery beside Dr Joseph Myers with many attendees from Ohio and beyond.

Near Fire Threatens Dunlap Livery Barn on Vance Street
Last Sunday night a fire danger arose at Dunlap's livery barn as electric wires sagged across the metal roof. Night watchman Croker spotted the flames and the fire department responded. Walter Fouke lifted the wire off the roof and placed it on bricks, preventing a wider blaze.
