After a public hearing and a special session, Carey adopts a comprehensive zoning ordinance to regulate industrial commercial and residential growth. Early Start Kicks Off Wyandot County Airport Drive
Wyandot County airport committee met at Evergreens Restaurant Upper Sandusky to outline a fund drive with $100 000 state support. Edward Beard county auditor and Upper Sandusky Development Corp led 28 members including Carey Development leaders to raise about $20 000 for land purchase and related costs. Donations from local industry and citizens are sought with a goal to begin construction this spring if funds come in by week end.

Carey police report a Saturday night crash on S Patterson Street when Donald Niederkohr's 1963 Chevrolet ran off the road struck a guy line pole and broke it. Damage estimated at 190 to the car and 60 to the pole. Niederkohr charged with reckless operation. Wyandot County deputies investigated multiple Friday and Sunday accidents involving teenagers on Ohio 103 and Ohio 53. one passenger treated for a forehead bump, several vehicles sustaining heavy to extensive damage, and one total loss after a late Friday rollover on Wyandot 4 north of Wharton.
