The 1938 Gasco Food Institute will come to Carey at the Catholic hall on Friday and Saturday December 16 and 17. Admission is free for both days with a dramatized program and a model all gas kitchen for cooking demonstrations. Miss Mary Brown will headline with Miss Sue Thomas assisting. James Terry oversees arrangements.

Miss Margaret Savidge daughter of Foster and Mrs Savidge of south of Garey and Ray Van Horn son of Mr and Mrs Harry Van Horn near Vanlue were married at noon Saturday at the Bride’s parents home. Rev Glen Robinson and Rev Harvey Thomas officiated in a single ring ceremony with palm setting and Miss Evelyn Orians provided nuptial music. Attendants were Miss Vivian Johnson and Harry Teague. A dinner followed for immediate families and friends with a large blue and white wedding cake centerpiece. The bride, a Salem high school graduate of 1936 and Marion Business college 1937, has worked at Electric Auto-Lite in Fostoria. the groom, a Vanine high school graduate 1934 and International College Ft Wayne 1937, is a cashier at Burroughs Adding Machine in Pittsburgh. Richard Carroll Walters age 7 died at Findlay Home and Hospital Sunday after four days of illness from peritonitis following appendicitis. He was visiting Houcktown when taken ill and died at 8 pm. Born December 7 1929 in Carey he was the son of John and Ruth Walters and member of the West building third grade and Methodist Episcopal Sunday school. Private funeral at Goff funeral home Wednesday at 2 pm with Rev. Marion E. Tinsler. Interment in Spring Grove cemetery.
