Sgt Herman J Baughman of Findlay died in action in the South Pacific on July 30. He was 37th Division and survived by his parents Mr and Mrs Eugene Baughman and six siblings Ensign Arden Baughman Melvin Theodore Vera Mae Barbara and Marilyn His mother is critically ill at home in Findlay.

Sgt John M Black 25 son of Mrs R S Greek Carey Ohio was killed in action on 25 July in the Southwest Pacific area while serving with Company E 148th Infantry 37th Division. He enlisted December 22 1941 overseas July 1942 and is remembered for his service at Muiindi in the Solomon Islands. He attended Our Lady of Consolation Schools and Carey High School class of 1936. He is survived by his mother step father and several siblings.

Memorial services for Sgt Gerald L Lamberjack were held at Our Lady of Consolation Church in Mon day morning. The fallen hero, son of Veronica Lamberjack of Fostoria, formerly Carey, was the first Carey native killed in World War II. The Mass was celebrated by Fr Ambrose Finnegan with a Rekem sermon. Local American Legion members led a catafalque procession and salutes followed the Requiem Mass.

Boy Fractures Foot In Alley Truck Accident
